A mouthguard case is essential for many reasons:

1) It will keep your mouthguard clean of dirt , grass, turf pellets and sweat.

2) You can easily find your mouthguard. Most mouthguard cases come with clips to attach        securely to your athletic bag. 

3) If the case is ventilated, your mouthguard will dry faster.

4) Mouthguard cases reduce exposure to bacteria. Especially vented ones.

Mouthguard cases should meet these 3 criteria:

1) It should be the correct size. some mouthguards like pacifier types are bigger than others.

2) It should be tough and resilient to breakage. 

3) It should have vents or small holes to allow for air flow

4) It should have a clip or carabiner to attach to your athletic bag

  * Some cases don't come with a clip or a carabiner to secure the mouthguard case to your athletic bag. You will have to purchase a clip or carabiner if the case doesn't come with one.
